Privacy policy

This policy explains what AstralMandala ("we") collects when you use AstralMandala, why, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it. Questions: hello@astral-mandala.com.

What we collect

Your account. Your e-mail address and a password, which we store only as a one-way hash. Your mobile number, and if you choose, a display name.

Messages from us. If you say yes when you sign up (or later on your account page), we send a short WhatsApp message to that number now and then — when the sky moves for your chart, or when there is something new to see. Never more than a few a week, and nothing is ever sold or shared. Reply STOP, or turn it off under Account, and it ends. If you prefer the morning line by e-mail, that is a separate choice on the same page.

Your birth details. Date, time and place of birth (as coordinates and a time zone), whether the time is known, and optionally your gender, which some matchmaking factors use. We need these to compute your chart; without them there is no reading.

People you save. If you save another person — a partner, a parent, a co-founder — their name or label, their relation to you and their birth details. Only save someone whose details you are entitled to share. When you use an invite link instead, the person enters their own details and agrees to them being used for your joint reading.

Your sittings. What you ask and the replies you receive, so the conversation can continue and you can read your history. These are removed automatically after 90 days.

Payments. If you buy Plus or Monthly, the payment is handled by Razorpay (in India) or Stripe (elsewhere). We receive and keep the payment's reference, amount, currency and status — never your card, UPI or bank details.

The free kundli. Birth details typed into the free kundli are used to compute the chart you see and are not stored or linked to you.

Usage. We use Plausible Analytics to count visits and a few actions (such as signing up) in aggregate. It uses no cookies and collects no personal data. Our servers keep short technical logs (for example, which page was requested and when) to run and secure the service; they do not record what you say in a sitting.

Cookies and local storage

We use two cookies, both necessary: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and a security token that protects your account against cross-site requests. Your browser's local storage keeps your display preferences (light or dark, chart style, which cards are open). There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Who else processes your data

• Hosting. The service runs on Amazon Web Services.
• Language model. To phrase a reply, the facts computed from your chart for that question, and your message, are sent to the language-model service that writes the words. It does not receive your e-mail address.
• Place search. When you look up a place of birth, the name you type is sent from your browser to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to find its coordinates.
• Payments. Razorpay or Stripe, as above, under their own privacy policies.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.

Your choices

• See and download. Your account page lets you download everything we hold about you.
• Correct. Change your birth details, the people you saved, or your account details at any time.
• Delete. Deleting your account removes your birth details, the people you saved, your sittings, your history and your account. Payment records we are required to keep for accounting are kept only for that purpose.

Children

AstralMandala is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will say so on this page and, for significant changes, tell signed-in users. The date below is when it last changed.
